After a break from the water, Emily White was eager to get back into racing.

After what has been an extremely disrupted year, South Australian swimmers began their racing season with the South Australian Short Course Championships which were held on 2-4 October. F-Teamers Sophie Healy and Emily White kept up the winning momentum established by the F-Teamers at the QLD champs into the SA champs. To call the weekend a success would be too significant of an understatement, with the girls having achieved a combined total of 14 golds across their events. Representing the Funky team with pride, brightness, style and speed, the girls managed podium positions in every one of their entered events.

Sophie Healy had an impressive meet competing in 9 events over the weekend.

Sophie Healy of Norwood Swim Club competed in a total of 9 events across her busy championships, scoring medals in the 16 year old age group for each of the 9 events. Sophie left the champs with gold medals in the 50 and 200 Backstroke, 100 and 200 IM, 100 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly. Adding to this incredible feat, her outstanding performances across the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke were all silver medal swims. A massive congratulations to Sophie, as we’re sure that leaving a state championship meet with a 100% podium rate is a dream for most.
